Over the past 40 years, Drama has come to be a vital part of the Parish life at St Peter’s.

Members of all ages have been active in a wide variety of performances. Some have been presented in the main stage of the auditorium (now named the Cormack Hall) while others have been included within the services of the Church.

Drama, to St Peter’s, has been one very effective way of bridging the generation gap in our Church Family. Many of the presentation have dealt with Church themes but a great many are representative of good secular Dramatic Literature. Quality, both in choice of material and in standard of presentation has always been high and St Peter’s productions enjoy an enviable reputation throughout the city.

Before passing away in 2001, Jo Cormack acted as Director for the majority of productions and enjoyed the support of a very talented congregation.

In addition to the performances within the Church, we have been involved with outside organizations such as the Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Alzheimer Society for whom we have performed throughout the Province as a part of their attempts to keep the public informed (and to solicit some charitable donations).

We have maintained a totally “Volunteer” format and no participants have ever received compensation for their very generous contributions of time and talent. Some years ago we raised enough money to have the first Stained Glass Window installed, which is dedicated to all those who have made some sort of ‘Artistic’ contribution to St Peter’s. We are in process of raising the costs of a second window — this one in respect to all groups and individuals who have sewed as “Volunteers” in the life of the Church.
